I loved The Silent Patient and was so excited to hear about Alex Michaelides’s new release! A murder mystery and Greek mythology? It’s like my perfect book! The Maidens was intriguing from the start and I had trouble putting it down. I spent the entire book trying to figure out what the heck was happening since there were so many likely suspects, and I was still shocked by the ending twist! This one completely surprised me and I had to sit there and process for a few moments afterwards. I didn’t love The Maidens as much as I did The Silent Patient (just due to a few cons/annoyances in the plot), but it was still an amazing thriller that was clever and atmospheric. This was a great choice for our book club (@killclubreads ) and I highly recommend picking this one up on publish day, June 15th. Thank you so much to Celadon Books for my gifted copy! 4.5 stars
