I was intrigued by the cover and description of this book and it sounded like the perfect setting for a thriller. I have not yet read The Silent Patient so I didn't know what to expect as far as his writing. This was a quick and enjoyable read for me, although I felt it was lacking in some areas.
What I liked: The university setting was great and I appreciated the Greek mythology aspect of the story. I thought that the writing was extremely readable and kept my interest throughout.
What I didn't like: I think I would have enjoyed it more if I liked the main character, Mariana. I didn't feel any real connection to the characters and somehow the story especially the ending did not work for me. Although I will say that the ending was definitely a surprise. I felt like a lot of these characters lacked depth and were just thrown into the story in some cases.
I think that I will go ahead and read his first book and see what I think of it.
