I absolutely loved the novel The Silent Patient by this author so was of course interested in this book as well. From the first few chapters I can already tell that I’m going to like the character of Mariana. It’s fascinating that she ended up in the profession of a therapist as it would seem she would have more difficulty relating to others based on the description of her childhood.
I was intrigued by the premise of this book and then, the first few chapters immediately drew me in and made me want to read more. Each of the characters in the therapy group were written with distinct personalities and the writing made it easy to visualize them and what was happening within the story. The character of Henry made me uneasy with his initial outburst and the entire interaction between him and Mariana created a tension that was palpable. I can’t wait to read the remainder of this novel to see what unfolds!
