After reading the Silent Patient, I knew I had to get my hands on this book the second it came out. Mariana is a well known therapist, whose niece Zoe, attends a university with a group called the Maidens, which is overseen by a pretty hot teacher. Mariana gets on a train to visit Zoe when Zoe's roommate goes missing and the things that unfold are startling. Is the professor of the beautiful girls in the Maidens responsible for the girls disappearance or is something bigger at play? The Maidens are holding back secrets that has Mariana convinced that the Maidens are not all that they seem to be. Quite possibly there's something larger at play.
In typical Alex Michaelides' fashion there's even a surprise twist/tie in to the Silent Patient that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat for days. Great book for people who liked Gillian Flynns gone girl or Lisa Jewell's Then She Was Gone.
