A little bit disappointed but is still a great thriller
Alex Michaelides' previous work, The Silent Patient was so popular with a great reason. It's hard not to compare The Maidens due to its success and it's always good to have another work from Michaelides.
Lots have been saying that TSP is better than The Maidens and I have to agree with this statement. I love my books to be page turners as I easily get a reading slump. The pacing was enough for me to finish it within 3 days. The short chapters are really helping me with this aspect.
It's exciting as I do not trust anyone here and always guessing if they are the murderers or not. Even the main character does some irritating decisions sometimes.
And yeah, if you've read TSP before, you'll be glad as we get to see some characters here.
If you've read or just new to Michaelides work and love to try dark academia in their thrillers, I suggest to go ahead with this one.
