While the premise and connection to Greek mythology is compelling, our third party narrator sounds too much like a man psychoanalyzing a woman's grief and lived experience. I already feel like I'll be rolling my eyes when we get to the Maidens themselves and how much they adore their charismatic professor. Not for me.
