After Alex Michaelides rocked my world with The Silent Patient, I had to check this one out.
The story starts out a little slow, and felt as though it touched upon a few different aspects of the story without really getting into them too deeply, other than Mariana herself.
I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I found myself wanting to read more, even beyond the first impression. Mariana is a character I wanted to learn more about - she's flawed and interesting, and while I don't really understand her connection to Zoe, I wanted to get deeper into the story.
Ultimately, this first impression left me with a lot of questions, and I am looking forward to reading more of the story and getting these questions answered.
