This was a fantastic historical fiction read! Not only were the different point of views fascinating, but this book really made you wonder about the unknown heroes of the war. This teensy insight into what some courageous people did - that people may never know about - is astounding! Thinking about the sacrifices that had to be made, hoping against all hope that this one deed or action could change the course of the war...gives me chills! This book also resonated with me because I have visited Dachau before, and the utter depravity and horror you feel walking through the camp, seeing the barracks, knowing what happened to people there...it could give anyone nightmares. But to relive those feelings through the characters in the books and knowing it yourself to be true, is an achievement on the author's part for her accurate portrayal.
