At first it was hard to get into because it just seemed like a random intro, however, after the first dozen pages or so, I was hooked. Pam Jenoff has a way of mixing history and fiction to create a product you could get addicted to. She has a solid background of history which allows her books to come off with an air of accuracy and quality some authors cannot. As a historian, the accuracy of the books is often one few authors have matched. I personally learn something new about history every time I read a Jenoff book.
In this book, the topic is about female spies behind enemy lines in WWII which is not a topic often discussed. It shows strong females seeking to help their countries fight a horrendous war and has actual fact to it. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants a strong female heroine and to learn something (if just the stigma against women or the dangers of war for women).
