I enjoyed this book I did not love it as much as some of Pam Jenoffs other books. I did find the story about the girls in France very interesting. The story in New York seemed choppy. I did not find myself drawn to the main character either. I need to like the main character in a book to really enjoy the story. I really did not feel anything for this one. I like to be so into a book that I don't want to put it down and can't wait to pick it back up anxious to find out what happens. I did not have that experience with this book. Pam Jenoff has written books in the past that I loved specifically " The Kommadant's girl" I felt this book did not have the same intensity. That said people who enjoy historical fiction may find this one fascinating.
