I listened to the Audible version of this book.
First, I understand some of the complaints about this book. Although I gave it 5 stars, because I personally enjoyed the book, there are some complaints about the idiocy of some of the characters and the way in which the characters are chosen to fulfill the roles in which they are required to fill. That being said...I enjoyed the mystery and the unfolding of the characters. I enjoyed learning a bit about people who fought to make the world a better place during a time that was full of unspeakable horrors. I enjoyed the intrigue and not knowing what was going to happen to each character or where their tasks were going to take them. I empathize with the characters who had to leave loved ones behind or make other challenging decisions, and I grieved with the wife who lost her husband. There are things that might have been done better but I found the book to be one that pulled at my heartstrings, took me on a rollercoaster ride, and kept me on my toes the entire way through the story.
