You had me at women spies
The first thing that made me want to read the excerpt was the author. I had the privilege of meeting Pam Jenoff at a book signing for The Orphan's Train a few years ago at a conference.
The second thing was the cover...it speaks of intrigue yet class. The title as well...it makes you wonder: The Lost Girls of Paris? Who are they? Why are they lost?
Having now read the excerpt, I'm itching to get my hands on a copy of the book so that I can find out what happens next! I love the writing...it's for the time, yet not full of unnecessary descriptions. I can easily imagine myself shadowing Grace Healey as she rushes to work, sees the accident, etc. I love books set in NYC in the 1930s and 1940s, so this one is definitely at the top of my to-read pile for once it comes out in early 2019...ugh why do I have to wait that long!
