My first impression of the cover was, I thought of a clock and about time. Was time about to run out? Run out for whom? Run out for what?
The first girl, Grace seemed afraid. She didn't want to be late for work but there had been a bad accident, so she had to go the long way around. She was also alone in a big city, and she felt as though she had been treated unfairly. Loneliness and uneasiness began to set in.
Upon reaching Grand Central she found something under one of the benches and did not know what to do about it.
Then the second girl, Eleanor had come up with a good idea and began recruiting the girls.
Then the third girl, Marie, a typist, was in London, at a table, by the window, in the town house. After the bomb hit, she had decided to send her daughter Tess, to be with her Aunt Hazel.
As I got deeper into the story, suddenly it was cut short. Needed to learn more. Great read so far.
