I love historical fiction and was intrigued to read a story about strong women who played important roles during WW2. The story centers around three such women, Grace, Eleanor, and Marie. While working in New York to help war refugees, Grace accidentally stumbles over a suitcase containing pictures of young women and decides to find out more about who they are. Eleanor is the owner of the suitcase, the leader and trainer of young female agents who go behind enemy lines to gather information to send back to England. Marie is one of those young agents, a single mother whose courage is unwavering. The story is well written, and I immediately felt familiar with the characters. I am anxious to read the rest of this book. I think this will be one of the best books of the year.
