Alright, so this one is a little all over for me, so first, the things I enjoyed.
- I loved the characters. They were very lovable and relatable right from the start.
- love a fantasy inspired by meso-American mythology and culture.
Now, for some things I didn’t enjoy as much.
-The writing was very bland. It was very subject-verb style of writing. And this sat right beside these stunningly complex names and culture that just made it feel very disjointed. It wanted so badly to have the grace and beauty and melodic landscapes that Laini Taylor writes with, but it was lacking and disjointed in the writing.
- As much as I loved the inspiration for the world and all it offered, the use of elemental inspired also felt a little predictable. Like the fire people are the creepy probably bad people. That just was a little predictable
