Late one night two coroner's are surprised to find that the body they're suppose to autopsy isn't "dead". A teenage girl must fight her undead neighbors and flee her trailer park. A ship filled with sailors is quickly overtaken by an undead horde. A lone government official locks herself away and attempts to contact other survivors.

These are just a few of the people you will follow in George A Romero's The Living Dead. This book is a monster read, both in plot and in page count. The Living Dead is an epic re-imagining of the often told zombie apocalypse but Romero puts his own spin on.

George A Romero is more well known for his classic zombie movies including The Night of the Living Dead. Romero spent years working on a novel but unfortunately died before he could finish so another writer was brought in to finish it.

This book is large and has a lot of characters but I never felt overwhelmed but either. I was invested in the story the whole time. The writing was compelling and I hope this book one day becomes a tv show.

A fantastic horror read.
