Too long and boring

First off, this book is way too long. Like, way too long. It's 700 pages, and it feels like the 700 pages it is. You don't really get lost in it, you just dredge through it. All the chapters have constant flashbacks, and you get kind of thrown because it just interrupts other things. The ending was so long and boring, just drawn out. I didn't care about any of the characters at this point.

However, the biggest problem with this book is that when George Romero died, somebody else had to finish it, and the two parts do not blend well, I think anyway. You can clearly see where the original author's book ended and the new writer's began. Instead of continuing the story right after, chronologically, the new author chose to jump 15 years ahead. That wouldn't have been too bad, if the writing blended better, but unfortunately, it just didn't work well here.
