The Living Dead is a very long, thick book that could probably have been edited down to be less overwhelming, and easier to carry!! Or possibly made into a mini series, or even a full fledged series, but I am glad I had the chance to read it. I suppose people who want ‘more bang for their buck’ might find its thickness inviting. It was rather reminiscent of The Walking Dead, the tv show, which I enjoyed the early seasons of. I should maybe get back into watching that sometime…

There were some rather gory parts, so if you’re sensitive to that, this may not be the book for you. There weren’t any pictures of the gore, but some people have strong imaginations, and the descriptions are clear enough to envision. The author seemed to have some deep seeded issues against catholic priests, but it was overall a good zombie apocalypse novel. Fairly realistic, as far as the genre allows. All in all, a good read
