The Latecomer is the first book I’ve read by Jean Hanff Korelitz and I wasn’t sure what to expect when I initially picked it up. Unfortunately I struggled to get into this one, I wanted to like it a lot more than I actually did. I found it to be slow paced and the writing style to be super wordy. I found that this book had a lot of potential and a great concept and was disappointed that I couldn’t get into reading The Latecomer. Overall, I think this book had a great storyline, but ultimately wasn’t for me.I’ve never read a book quite like this one, so I appreciate it’s originality and I do think that many people will enjoy and appreciate this book more than I did though. I would definitely be willing to try a different book by this author and even though I didn’t fully enjoy this book, I do believe others should give it a try. I’m curious to read what other people think of this one!
