This book has a familiar story: a girl falls in love, goes on an adventure, and the boy she loves is taken away. Instead of running away from her grief and problems, she becomes obsessed and wants revenge so battle her feelings and mind.

Though Poe helped me follow the story, I still felt like there was something missing. The story was easy to follow but I craved something more from this book, possibly more of a backstory to better understand. This is a great representation of what one may go through since many stories would have downplayed the role grief would have played on their main character. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in adventure genres.
