I did not like the author’s first trilogy and so was skeptical about this book but i was pleasantly surprised to find that I liked the characters and the story. The romance at the beginning is very sweet and when it gets ripped away I truly felt sad. Only issue for me is that I liked the couple that was taken away and that will make it hard for me to finish the book. I hope there is another love interest because that is really the only thing that would save this book for me. I’m a sucker for romance so when it is taken away like this I often have trouble finishing a book. It was well written though and interesting. Many of my students love this this author’s previous work so I will be purchasing this book for the library.
