Great Dystopian! Different & Unique

I received this book from Bookish First, so I was able to read the first few chapters straight away and crossed my fingers that I would be winning a copy for I was in love with the story already! In the first few chapters, we learn that Poe and her best friend/love of her life work on a ship that dredges the river for gold. The trip takes a terrible turn when her love is killed as she watches. She turns cold and is out for one thing....revenge! Fast forward a few years and Poe is going to be the captain on the next voyage of a ship that she has designed the armor for. She may get her revenge after all. I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this book! I did read the first book in the Matched series by Ms. Condie and although I enjoyed it...I never continued. But this story mesmerized me and it had very little romance which was refreshing. I adore a good dystopian and this one met my expectations! I have heard that it is a stand alone but I would LOVE to see what happens after!
