Poe Blythe is out for revenge after the Raiders kill the boy she loves and she's going to do it by designing the weapons and armor that will kill them all.

This book was exactly what I have grown to expect out of a good YA story from Ally Condie. I particularly liked how she's able to write a "stereotypical" YA novel while still staying away from being too "trope-y". While love is what motivates this characters story, it isn't the heart of the story and it isn't what influences our main characters decision. Condie has written an imaginative story with relatable characters and practical dystopian problems.

I'm actually not sure if this book is designed as part of a series or not but I would be perfectly content with the ending of this book as it is.
