Anger, Revenge, Adventure & a Traitor

Poe Blythe is a strong character full of determination and anger. She is determined to control and succeed in her attempts at revenge. The exciting adventures help to deal with Poe's emotional punches. The reader is trying to figure out who the traitor is along with Poe. It felt like we were not given the usual amount of world building and character development of secondary characters in order to create suspense and to see the story through Poe's point of view. While this worked through most of the novel, there were times where this lack of information was frustrating. There were edge of your seat exciting passages, but also some parts that did not seem to fit in with the rest of the novel, especially some of the ending. Overall, an exciting adventure with a fierce heroine.
