The Last Voyage of Poe Blythe was an unexpected and highly enjoyable novel that hit me in places I wasn't prepared for. This story has a high action plot with plenty of action, but it's also very much about grief and character development at the same time. I particularly enjoyed how the author, Ally Condie, incorporated so many different elements into one cohesive plot and narrative. The writing style was also very readable, not too simple but also not too convoluted or weighed down with unnecessary purple prose. This is definitely one of the more unique dystopians that I've read in a while, with a distinct western and pirate-esque vibe, combined with something that makes it really stand out from others of a similar genre that I've read. The Last Voyage of Poe Blythe is an surprising, highly entertaining read that I highly recommend!
