Writing Fast and Rough, but Interesting Plot

My very first impression was of the cover, which I think is really lovely with the blue and gold. It definitely made me interested in the book. I'm also looking for interesting sci-fi reads, so this definitely caught my attention. I think the writing moves a little fast and is a bit rough around the edges, but the plot itself is quite interesting.
