This book was raw, emotional, and crippling.
While the main characters (sisters Autumn and Ivy) may have been in High School, the adult themes of consensual sex while drunk, a school coach/teachers gas-lighting a victim as to not "ruin a young man's future", and drug culture all hit me on so many levels.
The perspectives switching between Autumn desperately trying to survive an attack, and Ivy trying to find her when no one else seems to care was a unique story-telling device I enjoyed. There are modern references to nerdy things like Star Wars, and things like subtle racism and police bullying. I honestly went into this story expecting very little, and came out the other side a little more raw and open.
I would love to give this book five stars, however, there were some moments that seemed forced/inauthentic or unnecessary to the story. Things that (as a reader, not a writer) I didn't understand.
