Thank you BookishFirst and Publisher for this early copy!

It took me a good 80 pages before I was sucked into this unique novel. But once that happened it was a 5 star read all the way for me.

We follow sisters, Ivy and Autumn who after the death of their mother have grown apart and no longer feel like they know each other. It is not until Autumn goes missing, a drug deal gone south, that the two sisters have to come together again to survive.

Tate did an amazing job of crafting the two very different sisters and the friends/family that surrounded them. I also liked how Tate included different representations, an overweight main character (Ivy) who I connected with, an Ace character, and more in a normal non-gimmicky way.

Tate mixed together various genres, YA, Contemporary, Thriller, and some Paranormal that kept me reading until the end. The beginning was slow but the rest of the novel more than made up for that.

I was an emotional mess after reading this, the focus on family, on rape culture, on stereotypes, and not judging one another really moved me.

I will be picking up more from Meredith Tate in the future!
