Really enjoyed this read!
Aside from the gorgeous cover, I loved the "ah-ha" moment I had when I discovered the meaning of the inscription on the front over. It was a very cool way to tie the story into the design.
Aside from aesthetics, I really enjoyed this read overall. It was a little predictable, but not so much that it took away from the experience. I am always here for a strong, independent female main character, especially one with a cool type of magic skill. I appreciated how the author entwined the medical mainstream perspectives with the heartsoothing and how they addressed some issues and difficulties of the class system.
I would absolutely look to read the following books in the series. Be warned, there is a bit of a cliffhanger ending, which I would think leads into the next book in the series.
Overall, I'd recommend "The Last Bloodcarver" by Vanessa Le.
