Who knew a dictionary could be so great? I love the streamline design that allows the reader to look up unfamiliar knitting lingo without having to wade through a detailed blog post or a 10 minute video tutorial.

The author opens the book by pointing out that learning knitting is twofold-- the physical knowledge of how to move yarn and needles and the technical knowledge of how to read a pattern, buy yarn, and understand the construction of a product. As a self-taught knitter, I would have loved something like this when I was first knitting. Even today I sometimes have to stop in the middle of a project to look up what a particular abbreviation means. Having everything all in one spot is a definite plus!
