The Knitter's Dictionary is a really nice read. I grew up learning to knit while staying a summer with my aunt at her home in the Northeast. She found it very calming and after first balking at doing such a "trivial" activity I fully embraced it. Not only does this book take me back to those lazy summer days relaxing on the porch while rocking and knitting into the early evening it reminded me of the comfort and peacefulness of just letting the knitting take over while you are free to chat and sip lemonade. I have now passed my copy of the book to my daughter and am ordering several for Christmas gifts for family and friends. Perhaps this will inspire a whole new generation to begin knitting.
