This book goes through many things knitting/yarn related. It's a nice overview, but not to be used as a technical reference.
The merits are the terms covered. There are a very extensive list of knitting jargon and techniques covered.
What's inconsistent/lacking: Visual aids. Some terms have a visual on how a technique is done, but it takes a background of knitting knowledge to make sense of them.
Redirections: I looked up Bind-offs for example. It explains what a bind off is, stating other common terms for it, and then lists several other bind-offs that I can use (by searching elsewhere in the book--at least the book was alphabetical) Some had instructions, some visuals, and some just an explanation.
