I have a friend or two who would find this useful

I'm not a knitter, so when I read a book like this, I hope to receive information in the most easily-digestible manner. This book fits that bill. The definitions of terms is helpful. The different fonts and styles accomplishes the goal of breaking down the information for a newbie. The author seems knowledgeable on the topic. This would make a great coffee table book or a fun book to display in a craft room.
