I am generally not a fan of too much history in the books I read, if a book is advertised this way I tend to steer clear of it. However, the Savannah history woven into The Kingdoms of Savannah was actually super well done and it kept me interested throughout the entirety of the book. I never got bored or felt like I was reading a history textbook instead of a fiction mystery/thriller novel. Props to the author for weaving together a story filled with so much mystery, intrigue and history all in one. It was very well done and I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading this book!
While the setting and history was definitely my favorite part about this book I also thoroughly enjoyed the characters in this as well. The families and their back stories were all extremely interesting to me and this was such a great addition to an already very well done story!
