Great read!
This was such an intriguing book and I couldn’t put it down. Luke is a white male in in early 20’s and Stony is a black female in her 40’s. They are both homeless people and when they get a little monies they head towards Bo Peep’s a bar where Jaq works. Jaq is a young black female in her 20’s and she does not like injustice at all. When Luke comes up burned to death in a vacant building and Stoney is nowhere to be found she start’s nosediving to figure it all at and to bring the person or persons responsible to justice.
Then you have Morgana who is wealthy and she has Bebe, Willlou, David and Ransom who are all out on their own but Ransom is one of the homeless and he also gets involved with this investigation! Jaq is Morgana’s granddaughter and street wise. Betty the housekeeper was a hoot! I loved the interaction with her and Morgana!
They are all trying to find the Kingdom and the treasure! It takes you on the back streets and down in the sewer drains. You just get the feeling you can smell and hear the sounds of Savannah in this book!
I received this ARC from Bookish and the publisher Celadon for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thanks again for a wonderful read.
