The book you didn't know you needed

The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu is the book the world didn't know it needed. I would normally not have picked this book up on my own because it is historical fiction. I received it in one of my owlcrate boxes and I am so thankful owlcrate had the good sense to read and pick this story to distribute. Before this book I had no idea Mozart had a sister let alone one just as skilled as he was. I learned real facts in an entertaining way. It highlighted how women have been overlooked, dismissed and stifled through history. She has the same skills and dreams as her brother but due to her gender she is not allowed to create and thrive in the world she's born into. This is a beautiful story about family, gender roles, and being careful what you wish for.
