One of my most anticipated books!
I am a sucker for a good realistic fairytale or historical fiction-but-magical type story. Marie Lu's The Kingdom of Back looks to be shaping up into exactly that - based in a real historical story, with fantastical elements that I can't wait to dive into. I also have a weakness for "forgotten/lost girls of history," so getting to focus on Mozart's sister and how her life is so drastically different from his despite also showing early musical talent is music to my ears. (I don't apologize for that joke.)
The writing feels magical and dreamy, similar in feel to Uprooted by Naomi Novik. As a fan of Marie Lu's, it's exciting to read because it still feels like her writing but also completely unlike any of her previous books in style.
