I haven't read much of Marie Lu's work yet, but she is an author that I've always wanted to read. I absolutely loved Kingdom of Back! The historical setting is just so lush and described in a way that makes me feel like I'm right there with Nannerl. I love books that have historical times and figures, and especially love that Lu focused on a person that I hadn't known about before this book.
I really could relate with Nannerl's desire to be remembered and fears of being forgotten. Following along with her was a pleasure, and Lu created such a stunning world in her book that I'm disappointed there isn't more! Lu's writing style is really beautiful and lyrical, and it was especially fitting for this book.
I recommend this book for readers who liked the Wintersong duology!
