The concept behind Mari Lu's YA fantasy, "The Kingdom of Back," is a great one: Parts magic, parts historical fiction, and so much more to tell the story of the Mozart siblings. And it doesn't hurt that the cover is beautiful -- it's definitely something I would stop and pick up if I saw it in a book shop.

I found this to be a really beautifully written story. The prose are thoughtful and almost lyrical, which works really well within the context of this book. But these same qualities probably mean this one isn't for everybody. It's not exactly easy to digest all of the text and dialogue. Overall, I felt like you might need to have a notable attention span and some interest in the history here to get all of the way through this.
