This is the story of Nannerl, the other Mozart. What most people don't know is that Wolfgang's older sister was an accomplished musician and composer, too, and traveled with her brother performing for courts all over Europe. On their travels, they made up stories about a magic kingdom. Marie Lu takes this imaginary land, the Kingdom of Back, and interweaves this world with the history of the Mozart children.

The book mixes historical fiction with fantasy when the Kingdom of Back becomes a real place and the Nannerl makes a bargain with a faery boy. While many parts of both the historical and fantasy sides of the story were good, there were a few instances where the narrative became a little boring. Some of the logic in the story was also questionable. Like how Wolfgang makes up a story about the royal family of Back, and when they go to the actual kingdom it's a true story. ::spoilers:: or how the Mozart siblings are suppose to be the lost prince and princess???::end spoiler::

I did like Nannerl as a character and was glad to see her stand up for herself the best she could given the times. But I think I was hoping for something more from her.
