I cried at the beginning and ending of this book. It’s a brilliant story that combines the history of a little known musician and the fantasy of a Peter Pan like story. The characters are just as fascinating as their real life counterparts and just as heartbreaking in how much potential was wasted because of what women were allowed and not allowed to do. The fantasy element is an old time fairytale where even happy endings are bittersweet.

I adored the two different worlds in this book and how they seemed to intersect into each other never really letting you know if you were about to enter the world.

Hopefully this book gives more girls the inspiration to follow their dreams no matter who or what stands in their way.
