I'm a great fan of Marie's works. She has a gentle way of drawing you into her stories and her characters. Where some authors are rather "in your face" about a story, Marie tells it softly and steadily so that you become bound to the story itself as you continue to read. And that is how I felt about The Kingdom of Back.
I am interested to know why she chose to write this story of the "silent" sister, Marianne. Mozart himself was a brilliant composer, but to shine light onto the sister is ingenious itself. I would love to read more of this story! The plight of Marianne, the sibling rivalry and comraderie. All cleverly written and woven into a sure to be great story! I got a glimpse of Mozart's early talents emerging and of the sister who is trying so hard to please her parents and still be able to make her own choices and live her own life.
