My first impressions:

Cover - the muted illustrations on a blue background are not eye-catching, but the author's name certainly is. The dark colors set a somber mood and ready the author for the secrets this book just might reveal.

Maps! - I love maps. They are excellent references to go back to and readers would do well to refer to these before and during reading.

First Pages - This isn't a dystopian - not in the typical sense of Lu's writing. It's more of a what-if of historical fiction. However, Lu's strength has always been her world building and characterization; traits that can cross over to any genre. Fans of this author should journey with her into this new genre. In some ways, mid-1700s Austria is like a fantasy land to us, and so the story of Mozart's sister, Nannerl, will still please Lu's long time fans.
