I made a small comment in the back of my head about the first couple of lines being "cliche," but I didn't realize I was so pulled into Marie's story until I read the final words of the introduction! It was incredible how much I wanted to continue to read. As I continued the excerpt, I appreciated how realistic Nannerl's performance felt. Although I couldn't hear the notes and rhythms of the menuetto, I felt the tempo shift as Nannerl began to worry about the performance and force herself back under control. I'm looking forward to reading more of Nannerl's and Woferl's performances from here on out. I'd like to reiterate that I couldn't put the pages down. I was eager to read, which hasn't happened to me in a long time. I think this book can get me back into reading! The imaginative, mysterious, and mystic Kingdom of Back is alluring and beautiful, and I'm excited to find out where else the Kingdom will pop up in the real world! All in all, the book amazing so far, and I can't wait to read more!!
