I absolutely love Marie Lu and the books she creates, I’ve read everyone and I’ll say that she is a brilliant author. I’m extremely excited to read this book in the future and support one of my favorite authors. I love the concept of music and I relate to the main character as I had the same hopes of becoming a good musician(in my case on clarinet), but it didn’t really go well for me either. There were always people better than me and I think I would be interesting to read a book similar to my own story especially with magical twists, which I always enjoy. My one complaint from the synopsis and sample is that I love a good light romance in any book no matter how tiny it is. Judging by the summary I don’t think that dream will be fulfilled, but YA fantasy is a favorite genre of mine so no matter what I’m excited to add this book to my reading list.
