The rapidity with which this book was claimed for points speaks volumes about merits of the author and the story being told. Another exceptional book brought forth by Bookish First. Though not my typical genre I can say that from what I have read thus far I will have this book on my shelf come March be it won, awarded or purchased. The first person narrative is such an easy narrative to fail with when writing books, but Marie Lu brings her character to life with an aptitude for voice, prose and presentation. Nannerl is a character who says "I will show you my world," instead of, "I will tell you of it." The trope isn't one I've seen in a young adult fantasy before but my knowledge of the genre isn't very deep. Nonetheless I do think it is rather unique and will hold distinction in its category. The cover art is catching and will serve its purpose well. I very much look forward to having this book in my lap.
