From the beginning pages, Marie Lu draws the reader into a world that is like and so very unlike our own. The main character is sharp, vulnerable, and still gutsy. Much like how we all want to be. I enjoyed watching the interactions between her and her family, woven carefully to tell paint a beautiful picture.
