Start with a great idea for a historical novel about Mozart's all but forgotten sister, add a fantasy element, then tell the tale through flowing prose, and you have the makings of an outstanding book. Lu wastes no time getting into the plot and introducing her main characters. And though history has recorded Nannerl's ultimate fate, the fantasy angle should hold the reader's interest throughout. The cover is wonderful and evocative, with the fantasy world's two moons and upside down trees. "The Kingdom of Back" should have no problem standing out on the YA shelves next year!
