The best thing about The Kinder Poison for me is the cover art, which is striking. YA Fantasy is not a genre that I usually choose to read, so characterization is extremely important in getting my attention. This did not happen with The Kinder Poison, as I felt no connection to Zahru or her story. I was not a fan of the writing style, regarding sentence structure and content. Those who enjoy reading fantasy might have a different impression of the novel, but this is a book that I would pass right by in the store.
