Interesting writing to start and keep me interested!

I was able to start right away and wanted to continue reading. Didn't take me but a paragraph to get into the story. The fantasy/magical parts were interwoven enough that it didn't take me out of the story and make me get bored. I was left ready to read more after the first impression and think it could be a good story, even if the premise in the synopsis doesn't sound that unique.
